Amazing story for a prequel. Although it is quite short, the game was really enjoyable on the PSP.
Probably the best game on the psp. The controls are good, graphics are pretty good, and the killing is excellent as always. Buy this game if you haven't already, especially at the price it is at now.
This is the best and beast game I ever saw on PSP. When I started to play it I did not stop until I finished it. The graphics is unbelieavable. It was the first game on PSP that I played so I thought that it was the hardware of the PSP to be so powerful but after I experimented different games not as beautiful as this, and I realized that it is this game that rises the Olympus of PSP.It is a must.
Upon completing that game twice, once as a knight and once as a druid, I again found myself starving for something good to play. I cannot wait to get back into the fray on the next levels and see how I do. I played the two Tomb Raider games that are available, and enjoyed them enough. Game play was challenging, yet forgiving where it needed to be. But after that I found myself starving for something to play, and raided my sons room on a clean up spree. I have just completed my first run through this great game. WOW, the only thing I can say is that all of the positive reviews were dead on.
My wonderful, beautiful, and thoughtful wife gave me a PSP last year for my birthday. I've been a gamer for a long long time. The scenes, artwork, sounds, play action, all just fit together so perfectly. Thank You. I was taken in by all of the sensual goodies built perfectly into this game. The designers didn't decide to play games and make already difficult areas and actions that much harder with bad controls, and camera angles. He had Untold Legends, so I played it. As long as the character control was totally analog stick I was good to go.
I loved that game a lot, it was right up my alley, and nice and long so it took forever to play through. Never having used or played any of the consoles, I was unfamiliar with the controls, but I liked the idea of the portability of the PSP. Naturally its supposed to be tough, but my inability to work the controls well played against me for a while. I'm still rusty and found myself hitting incorrect buttons during most of the mini-games. If your not familiar with these type of console controls, play on Easy mode first and get used to them.
So I started some research, and came across God of War with all of its outstanding reviews. The folks at Edios should take a lesson on the character control and camera angles & control from these developers. I'm not going to go into great detail here as there is already enough of that on the net. For decades I was a PC gamer, and I still am to an extent. The only real challenge for me was the final boss fight.
I will improve with time. Eventually, I got it, obviously, and was able to beat the game. One thing that I absolutely LOVED about this game besides the outstanding character control, and camera angles was the fact that if you died during a difficult part, instead of taking you back to the last save point, it took you back to your last checkpoint during that event. Of course the game has more playability as once you beat it on any of the lower difficulty levels, you unlock God mode and that gives you three more levels again to play, plus you start unlocking challenges which are sort of mini-levels.
I also played Indiana Jones - Staff of Kings, and liked that as well. An excellent way to design the game. Outstanding graphics, breathtaking panoramas, perfect art work, superb music score, outstanding sound affects, and absolutely perfect character control and camera angles & control. I'm just going to say that I've not had more enjoyment out of playing a game before, and it deserves to be said so all can see.
So for example, if you were doing the last boss fight and got to the point like I did where your half way through and died, when you restarted, you were at the beginning of that particular part of the boss battle, you didn't have to go back and start from the beginning.
it is actually fun. I play PC games. Interesting. Console games generally do not interest me. I tried this on a whim and WOW. challenging. If I owned an up to date console I would buy the other God of War games if they are this good.
